This song or rap was introduced to me over my many years at
a Jewish summer camp, its kind of hilarious. Its also completely in Hebrew and
now listening to it I am kind of embarrassed that at one point I could sing
this entire song by heart even though I don’t speak Hebrew fluently. However it
is interesting because it is just composed of various popular bumper stickers
found around Israel. But some of the pumper stickers are kind of interesting,
some examples are “A whole generation demands peace, let the IDF win” or “the Supreme
Court endangers Jews” or “CNN lies”. Its kind of interesting to see how bumper
stickers in America are focused more on children’s success in school, or to be
funny. But these are pretty serious bumper stickers advocating for peace or focused
on politics, although there are plenty of political bumper stickers in America as
well.
Anyway I think its interesting that they wrote a song about
this and how it can still have a fairly strong theme and meaning, and its makes
me focus a bit more on the bumper stickers here at least for a short while.
