A young girl danced around in the forest greenery. The hues of the green were almost a teal color and the water ran as clear as glass. A voice called out to the playful girl.
"Sera! Don't stray too far now!" The girl, named Sera, turned to the man who had the voice. Her father. Smiling, she waved at him.
"Okay! I will be alright, Father!" she called out as she swirled around, kicking some water up to catch the light that streamed from the forest leaves. Her dress swirled with her, catching the light in its white cloth. The man smiled at the playful nature his daughter would always show. He sat down at the base trunk of the tree and basked in the sunlight. His eyes clothes, listening to his daughter's laughter.
Sera peeked around in the stream's waters, watching the minnow's attempt to nibble at her toes. She glanced around at the almost glowing leaves, breathing in the fresh air around her.
Something caught her eye. She quickly turned to see out of the corner a bright light zooming past the trees. Curious, she followed the light, leaving her napping father by the tree.
Sera scurried forward, trying to catch up to that twinkling orb of light. Eventually, she stopped at a clearing, trying to catch her breath.
However, the woods were not the same as the small clearing her father and her were in before. The trees were darker, scarier. Their branches loomed closer and were more crooked. The leaves rustled harshly against each other.
Sera, not knowing where to go, began to run. Run and run. "Father! Father!" she called out. Everything was remaining the same. Everything looked the same.
She ran and ran until she collapsed. A darkened cloud approached where the girl laid. Having fainted from the hysteria, the cloud was breathed into her. A light grew from the girl and her size became smaller. Transparent pixie-like wings sprouted from her back. A shout was heard, but it's volume grew closer and closer to silence.
"Sera!! Sera! Sera! Sera!!"
The voice became lost in the window and the tiny girl was left alone.
Hours past before another figure came by. Another girl with wings just like Sera flew over, looking the young girl over. More of them few over as well, supporting the girl and flying her up from the forest floor. They took her to a little village of mushroom and tree stump homes. They nursed her up to full health and the young girl was then taken to the mountains. Sera had noticed that while she was being helped, no other would look her straight in the eyes. She wondered what reason no one would look at her.
At the summit of the mountain rested a bird with fiery feathers. Sera looked into the fiery bird's eyes. The bird shook its head looking at the fairies. Their heads drooped and they began to fly back down the mountain. Sera moved to follow, but the bird's voice called out.
"I'm sorry. You don't remember anything of who you are, correct?" Sera turned to the bird, shaking her head. "I cannot do anything to heal you of this. My tears are not enough. But I believe that these fairies will still keep you in their homes. No matter how you are treated, work hard to be the best fairy you can,"
Sera thought over the words of the bird for a second before nodding, flying off after the others. The bird watched and looked off into a distance. "The one who shall finally come to your rescue... He will come after an affliction of his own comes into play..."
Sera worked hard to learn the magic of the fairies, improving her flying to be one of the fastest fairies in the colony. However, a hollow feeling rested in her heart. As if she had lost something important.
The feeling remained within her until a fateful day when a wolf beast was chasing her and her eyes met the eyes of a human man.
