Kissing?

So, there's this viral video that's been very recently going around of a bunch of strangers kissing. I know it sounds extremely weird and kind of voyeuristic. That's what I thought when I first saw it pop up on my newsfeed. But I was really tired and in the mood to procrastinate and it was either watch the video or keep studying Russian verb conjugations, so there we are.

It actually turned out to be one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. At first, the people were awkward, because, shockingly, kissing strangers is awkward. But there awkwardness was more endearing than you might expect awkwardness to be. They were introducing themselves to each other, and some of them had trouble remembering each other's names. And most of them had some sort of nervous laughter.

And there were all sorts of different couples represented. There were gay couples and straight couples and people with large age gaps and people of all sorts of different ethnicities. It really did look like a cross section of random participants of a city street, except they were in a studio with cameras set up to capture it.

And then they were kissing. And it was one of those things that I want to write words about, but can't, because it was really just... people kissing. And some had no chemistry and some had great chemistry and in some cases my roommate would look over and give me a look like I was watching porn in broad daylight or something. But it was really just so... beautiful. Human. Like, if I were to explain to an alien what it was to be human, this first thing I would do is show them this video.

Because wow is it just... adjectives. So many adjectives with so many positive connotations.
