The Final Year [Poetry]

The final year begins here
On this campus, in these halls,
Spring commencement commences,
Originally, an event planned for Fall.
And soon I will have no classroom peers,
Graduation bolsters all worldly fears,
And I will conquer them, stand tall.

For I was once as some are
A grown babe that could barely crawl,
But as grown ups grow up,
Evolution is a struggle, an ongoing brawl.
Some friends raised their personal bars
And some fell prey to drunk cars,
Life never stopped, life never stalled.

The final year begins here
On this campus, in these halls,
Changing seasons change,
Spring, Summer, Winter, Fall.
And soon life let's me steer
Towards the truth I do now peer,
"Listen to life, and answer its call".
