Night and Day are personified and known as princesses. They are sisters.
- Princess Day is in charge of causing the sun to rise.
- Princess Night is in charge of causing the moon to rise.
During the day, Princess Night would watch the people on Earth bask and enjoy life outside. She mused over that she had hardly any sort of activity and happiness when it was her turn to rule the sky for a few hours.
As she watched days pass, Princess Night grew jealous of her sister, that she had all the life, the excitement, the happiness our during her hours ruling the sky while she (Princess Night) mostly had people sleeping or getting drunk.
So one night, Princess Night brought on the night, but no moon was in sight. Princess Night had gone off and locked up Princess Day, causing an eternal night for Earth and all its people.
